The FUEGOSOL group adopts its name from the research project granted by the Spanish Ministry of Economy within the State Plan for Scientific Research and Innovation (2013-2016). Our group analyses the effects that fires produce on soil physical, chemical and biological properties. The research has also been focused on post-fire plant recovery and erosion mitigation measures. This line of research arised thanks to the “Rehabilitation of semiarid soils affected by wildfires” project, funded by the “Vicerrectorado de Investigación” from University of Zaragoza in 1992. In this way, our work covers contrasted environments from the semiarid Ebro Basin to subalpine Central Pyrenees.
